Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Musical by Stephen Sondheim
This iteration of Sweeney Todd was put on by the Richard Burton Theatre Company at the Sherman Theatre.
It conceptually challenges the piece, setting it in an abstracted version of an Amazon Warehouse, criticizing the nature of overproduction and consumerism.
I was honored to work as Dotty Squibb’s assistant on the costumes for this show, her incredible designs really bringing the piece to life. From sourcing and organisation, to making costumes from scratch, alterations and printing, I learnt so much and developed my skills as a costume assistant significantly.
